Wayfinding Font Size Guide

Font size plays a big part in making signs easy to read. The right font size can speak volumes and leave a lasting impression.

Choosing the Right Font Size

Different situations call for different font sizes. Whether you're designing for pedestrians, drivers, or individuals with visual impairments, selecting an appropriate font size is crucial to creating an inclusive and user-friendly wayfinding system.

Fonts for Legibility

Sans-serif fonts are our friends. Their clean lines and straightforward appearance offer maximum legibility from a distance; making them well-suited for guiding people through complex environments. Our go-to bold face sans-serif fonts include Helvetica Neue Bold, Futura Bold, Gotham Bold, and Avenir Bold. Keep in mind that while serif typefaces like Times New Roman, Garamond, or Caslon may be suitable for other applications, they generally require up-sizing for effective wayfinding signage.
